Monthly Competition Starting January 8, 2009, Competition meetings are held on the 2nd Thursday of each month. (The December meeting is the Annual Banquet and Awards Presentation.)

The monthly competition includes three categories: projected digital files (color & monochrome), color prints, and B&W or monochromatic prints. Awards are given based on popular vote and judge selection. The guest judge also provides critique on the entries. Follow this link for competition rules.

Points earned each month accumulate toward annual awards. Monthly entries are eligible for the year-end competition.

Programs & Classes
Program meetings are demonstrations and/or workshops on a variety of photo techniques. Classes are usually focused on using Photoshop and other photo software. Starting in 2009, programs and classes are held on an irregular basis. The location of program meetings will vary. Please check the calendar or contact us for specific details.

Previous and future topics include: Infrared, Handcoloring, Stereo Photography, Macro Photography, Digital, Wildlife, Polaroid Transfers, Matting and Mounting, Photo Scavenger Hunt, etc.

Field Trips
For field trips, members meet at a prearranged location to proceed to a specific place or event, or to conduct an on-site workshop.

Previous and future trips include: Architectural/Night Shoot, Fashion and Glamour, Denver Botanic Gardens, Motorcycle Races, South Park City, Georgetown, Renaissance Faire, Ice Sculptures at Breckenridge, Denver Zoo, and more.

Photo Swap Meet
The club hosts at least one Photographic Swap Meet each year. As well as a wide selection of photographic items for sale, there will be other special demonstrations or exhibitions.

Special Events
Every year from 2000-2005 included a Kids with Camera Program. In cooperation with a community youth program, members escorted future photographers around their neighborhood to take pictures with disposable cameras. One photo from each kid was displayed at a Denver School or Branch Library.

Exhibitions
Another goal is to increase the visibility of the club and its talented members through Photographic Exhibitions. In 2001 & 2002, exhibits were held at Westminster City Hall and several area libraries.

Other Clubs
We are proud of our club, but if our location and times are inconvenient for you, consider some of the other photo clubs in the Denver area.
