Monthly Competition
Starting January 8, 2009, Competition meetings are normally held on the 2nd Thursday of each month. (The December meeting is the Annual Banquet and Awards Presentation. Other exceptions may occur so please verify on meetings or news & activities page.)
The monthly competition will now include six categories in two divisions: projected digital files (color, B&W or monochromatic, and creative) and prints (color, B&W or monochromatic and creative). Awards are given based on popular vote and judge selection. The guest judge also provides critique on the entries. Follow this link for competition rules.
Points earned each month accumulate toward annual awards. Monthly entries are eligible for the year-end competition.
Programs & Classes
Program meetings are demonstrations and/or workshops on a variety of photo techniques. Classes are usually focused on using Photoshop and other photo software. Starting in 2009, we expect to have a program or class on the 1st Thursday of each month, except December. The location of program meetings will usually be the regular meeting. Other classes may be held on an impromptu basis if interest warrants. Please check the calendar or newsletter to confirm date and view topic or contact us for specific details.
Previous and future topics include: Digital/Photoshop, Infrared, Handcoloring, Adobe Lightroom, Stereo Photography, Macro Photography, Wildlife, Pseudo Line Drawing, Matting and Mounting, Photo Scavenger Hunt, etc.
Meeting Times & Location
Meetings begin at 7:00 pm (competition entries due at 6:30 pm)
Please go to our location page for more information on meeting locations.

Membership is on an annual basis from January through December. Members are eligible to enter club competition, receive the newsletter and participate in special workshops.
Member fees are $30 single, $45 family. (Discounted if you join after July.) TO JOIN: contact us or come to a meeting.
Field Trips
For field trips, members meet at a prearranged location to proceed to a specific place or event, or to conduct an on-site workshop.
Previous and future trips include: Architectural/Night Shoot, Fashion and Glamour, Denver Botanic Gardens, Motorcycle Races, South Park City, Georgetown, Renaissance Faire, Ice Sculptures at Breckenridge, Denver Zoo, and more.
Photo Swap Meet
The club hosts at least one Photographic SwapMeet each year. As well as a wide selection of photographic items for sale, there will be other special demonstrations or exhibitions.
Special Events & Exhibitions
Another goal is to increase the visibility of the club and its talented members through Photographic Exhibitions. Over the past several years, exhibits were held at Westminster City Hall, several area galleries, and local libraries.
Every year from 2000-2005 included a Kids with Camera Program. In cooperation with a community youth program, members escorted future photographers around their neighborhood to take pictures with disposable cameras. One photo from each kid was displayed at a Denver School or Branch Library.
